Introducing NEXT
Application deadline extended through February 16, 2024

Last year, following the report and recommendations of the Ad Hoc Committee on Reimagining the NACAC-Affiliate Partnership, the NACAC Board of Directors approved moving forward with bylaws amendments to remove reference to the national delegates/Assembly as a part of the association’s governance structure. In recognizing the important professional development afforded by the role of delegate, the NACAC board asked staff to develop a new program to build the leadership capacity of next-generation affiliate leaders, and provide value for participants, their respective employers, affiliates, and NACAC.

Introducing: NEXT! A Leadership Development Opportunity from NACAC

NEXT is a one-year program. Each year, a cohort of participants will convene in-person on Thursday morning during the NACAC Conference. NEXT participants will have the opportunity to join virtual quarterly sessions throughout the year focused on leadership topics, presented by NACAC staff and volunteer leaders.

PACAC can nominate up to three individuals for this program. They should be early to mid-career professionals who are also NACAC members. Soon, we will send out an email with more details about the program and also instructions for applying. Stay tuned!!

You may nominate yourself for this opportunity or you may nominate another individual with their permission. We will review all applications equally. Criteria to be chosen:

  • Each participant  must be a NACAC member.

  • Each participant should be an early- to mid-career professional.

  • Each participant must be a member of a PACAC committee or commit to joining a PACAC committee for the year during which they participate in NEXT.

  • PACAC Executive Committee members are not eligible for this program

  • Each participant must have institutional support to attend the NACAC conference in Los Angeles in September 2024 and to attend virtual sessions during the year.

  • Financial support from the participant’s institution is helpful; limited financial support from PACAC may be available.
