College Fair Guidelines

  1. A salaried staff member or trained volunteer must represent each institution at any PACAC college fair.
  2. Each institution’s admission requirements and deadlines should be stated accurately.
  3. Precise information about costs, financial aid opportunities, housing opportunities and deposits should be readily available.
  4. Pictures and descriptions of the campus(es) should be current and realistic.
  5. Descriptions of special programs such as support services for learning disabilities, overseas study, Advanced Placement credits and honors programs should be accurate and specific.
  6. The following materials are NOT to be distributed at the fair: bumper stickers, buttons, pennants, pens, pencils, posters, candy, T-shirts or other gimmicks. Appropriate giveaway items include fact sheets, brochures and catalogs describing an institution and its programs.
  7. Visual aids and audio equipment are NOT permitted unless the college fair organizer gives permission. Displays may not exceed 18” in height and 40” in width.
  8. All interactions must be confined to each institution’s designated area, with the institution representative remaining behind the table.
  9. Any transactions involving monetary exchanges, raffle drawings, contests or lotteries of any kind are prohibited.
  10. College representatives must monitor their own table areas. Students should complete information cards at the table designated for that institution, not at other institutions’ tables.
  11. Representatives should speak only of their own institution and not speak negatively of other institutions.
  12. Representatives are expected to remain at the fair until its stated end time or when the college fair organizer states that the fair is over.
  13. Any problems that arise should be directed to the attention of the college fair organizer at the fair.
  14. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in not being invited to attend future college fairs.

**While these are mostly for our in-person college fairs, we hope that everyone participating in our Virtual College Fairs will use the same integrity and courtesy.
