Counselor Assistance Program Grants


One way PACAC supports its members' participation in professional development activities is through Counselor Assistance Program Grants (CAP Grants).  Counselors whose institution (college/university/high school) cannot provide financial support are able to apply to use a CAP Grant at any of the PACAC Professional Development events or the NACAC Annual Conference.  The CAP Grant committee reviews all applications according to the specified deadlines (below) and responds to each applicant with a decision.

To be eligible for consideration for a CAP Grant, an applicant must:

  • Work with college-bound students of any age in the college admission process.
  • Verify that their institution will not pay the required fees for PACAC professional events.
  • Not have received more than 2 CAP Grants within 5 years or received a CAP Grant in consecutive years.
  • Identify the program registration fees and lodging costs that he/she would like covered. Please note that PACAC will reimburse lodging expenses up to the General Services Administration (GSA) per diem rate as listed at www.gsa.gov. Meals and mileage reimbursement will not be covered (See the PACAC Finance & Budget Manual online for more information).

While CAP Grants may be awarded to any applicant who meets these guidelines, special consideration will be given to applicants who work in under-represented areas and/or with under-represented constituencies in Pennsylvania. The maximum CAP Grant amount for each event listed below will be determined by the CAP Grant Committee.

Annual Conference:  May 12th
Women's Empowerment Workshop:  May 12th
College Tour:  May 12th
Summer Institute:  May 12th
August Admission Workshops:  August 1st
NACAC Conference (Virtual or In-Person):  August 1st

 

*Decisions are made by a committee, which will meet after the designated deadline above. 
You will then be notified within two weeks of their meeting.
