ALC Webinar 4

Topic: Conducting a Legislative Visit

Speakers:

Adam Oldham is a High School Counselor at the Big Spring High School in Cumberland County, PA.  He is also a Governing Board member of PSCA, and the chair of the PSCA Government Relations Committee.  He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education in Educational Leadership and Administration through Immaculata University.

Chris Boehm has spent over twenty-five years working in college admissions and counseling, helping students and families make the decisions that are best for them. After seventeen years at Albright College, he left as Assistant Vice President and Director of Admission to create the College Counseling Office at Archmere Academy in 2014. Since then he’s worked with families enrolling at schools across the country and around the world. Chris believes that the college search and application process is a family journey; best seen as a growth process for the student and an amazing project-based exercise that will put their education to work. The process should start with students, not colleges!

Very involved in the college admission profession, Chris has directed the Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling’s (PACAC) Summer Institute for new hires, and served on its Executive Committee as Government Relations Committee Chair & Public Advocacy Director. He’s also been a delegate to the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) annual assembly and a member of their Professional Development Committee. Chris has presented several educational sessions at the NACAC, PACAC, and Potomac Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling (PCACAC) annual conferences. Recent presentations include: “The College Transition”, “Grit and Growth Mindset in the College Search Process”, and “Implicit and Unconscious Bias in the Admission Process”. In 2012 he was proudly awarded the PACAC William R. McClintick, Jr. Service Award, one of the Association’s highest honors.
